Anecdotes
If we had played a collective eclectic, gross score would have been 65
We scored a total of 15 birdies, 5th of those being on the 6th.
We scored most pars on the 9th, 15th and 17th.
Order of difficulty according to our average scores: (The holes on the Villarceaux card rated by strokes received)
SAC Eclectic | 8 | 1 | 14 | 4 | 7 | 12 | 16 | 2 | 5 | 18 | 11 | 10 | 9 | 15 | 17 | 3 | 13 | 6 |
Villarceaux card | 8 | 12 | 2 | 10 | 7 | 18 | 1 | 11 | 3 | 16 | 4 | 14 | 5 | 15 | 9 | 13 | 6 | 17 |
Anecdotally, GolfBag and Alan Kerr, at the time ex-offficio members of the Commission Sportive, did a similar exercise in the early to mid 80s by analysing the scores from several year's competitions to produce the strokes on the card that I think lasted until the course changed to include the current 16th and 17th and eliminate a couple of short holes.
