Cricket in France began in the second half of the nineteenth century, and started to become popular in the 1890s with a dozen or so teams. The SAC has had an active Cricket section since 1893, when the first publicly recorded matches took place (albeit with one of the SAC's rival football clubs).

In those days there were no formally prepared cricket pitches, so the SAC can count itself lucky today to be able to play on its own pitch surrounded by the glorious Forêt de Meudon.

The SAC's cricketers have an active fixture list both home and away throughout the summer, including Paris League games and international visitors from the UK as well as other countries in Europe.

Cricket at the SAC is taken extremely seriously, with a work hard and play hard attitude that combines  training sessions in the nets

 with refreshments at the bar

and even short golfing breaks!
